Bennie Peikert, 67 of Egypt, passed away on December 26, 2013. He was born on December 23, 1946 in Egypt, Texas to Jim and Leona Lewis Peikert. Bennie was a graduate of El Campo High School and a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army where he served as a helicopter mechanic.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Anna Buzek Peikert, daughter Melinda Kaye Northington and husband Baron of Pierce, son Bennie James "BJ" Peikert and wife Kari of El Campo, grandchildren Bailey Northington and Papa's baby girl Savanah Kaye Northington, sisters Rozell Giesie and husband Ernest of Wharton, Loretta Johnson and husband Milton of Louise, brothers Gordon Peikert and wife Margie of Egypt, Allen Peikert and wife Martha Lynn of Burr, and by many friends, neighbors and family.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dennis Peikert and Kenneth Peikert and infant brother and sister James Jr and Esther Peikert.

Visitation will begin at 1 pm on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Triska Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 3 – 6 pm. Funeral services will be at 10 am on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Triska Funeral Home with Stanley White officiating. Graveside services will be 2 pm at Lakeside Cemetery in Eagle Lake.

Pallbearers are Logan Giesie, James Johnson, James Sedlock Jr, Mark Kotulek, Paul Labay, and Josh Peikert.
