Bruce Steven Hanson, 59 of Grapeland, passed away February 3, 2014. He was born on May 13, 1954 in Bay City to Granville "Doc" and Dolores Nyquist Hanson. He was a lifelong beekeeper and a member of Sioux Bee Honey Corp. Bruce had 3,500 hives of bees between South Dakota and Texas.

He is survived by his wife Toni Praytor Hanson, brothers Dennis Hanson of Sweeny and Brian Hanson of Corpus Christi, sister Cindy Hanson of Corpus Christi, step-children Ryan Ramsey and wife Kristen, Adrienne Perkins and husband Michael, and grandchildren Hunter, Holton, Dane and Jack.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Triska Funeral Home with Kris Humble officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
