Carol Ann Ruzicka, 67 of El Campo, passed away on May 14, 2014. She was born on March 24, 1947 in El Campo to Louis and Martha Shimek Kutac. Carol was the owner and operator of Carol's Day Care from 1974 to 2013 and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her husband Franklin Ruzicka; daughters Lisa Perez and husband Phillip of Wharton, Jessica Ruzicka of League City; son Jeffrey Ruzicka and wife Cindy of Angleton; grandchildren Austin and Rebecca Ruzicka, Ashley and Zanne Soliz, Kirsten Richter, Blake Prihoda; great-grandchildren Angela Escamilla and Ariel Mancia; and sisters Gail Zaruba and husband Joe of Aransas Pass and Donna Janak of Lake Jackson.

Visitation will begin at 2 pm on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Triska Funeral Home with a Rosary led by the Catholic Daughters at 7 pm. Funeral services will be at 10 am on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at St. Philip Catholic Church with Reverend Michael Rother officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Aaron Cox, Nathan Cox, Justin Cox, Austin Ruzicka, Zanne Soliz and Blake Prihoda. Honorary pallbearers are all of Mrs. Carol's Day Care children.

Memorial donations in honor of Carol may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or St. Philip Catholic Church.
