Dan Curtis Lannen, 33, of Alvin passed away on December 29, 2013. He was born in Wharton on November 19, 1980 to Curtis Gregory Lannen and Darlene Krenek Taylor. Dan was an EMT-Basic while also attending school to obtain his associates degree. He had his firefighter certification, was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus member, enjoyed daily fitness weight training with his wife, hunting, fishing, and playing golf.

Survivors include his mother and step-father Ron and Darlene Taylor of Manvel, father and step-mother Curtis Gregory and Bethany Lannen of Halletsville, wife Milizza Lannen of Alvin, brother Clint Lannen and wife Brittany of Valley Mills, niece McKenna Lannen and Nephew Brighton Lannen, and maternal grandparents Eugene and Adeline Krenek of Shiner.

Dan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Lyle and Lola Lannen.

Visitation will begin on Friday, January 3, 2013 at 1 pm at Triska Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2013 at 10 am at St. Philip Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park in El Campo.

Pallbearers are Duane Krenek, Bruce Krenek, John Carl Brown, Tony Tellez, Forrest Kroschel, and Cody Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are John McEntee and Justin Bonewald.
