James Raymond Dornak Jr., 48 years young of Gainesville, Virginia, passed away on April 6, 2014. He was born on April 25, 1965 in El Campo to James R. and Evelyn Novak Dornak. James was a 1983 honor graduate of ECHS where he medaled in All-State Choir, played for the Ricebird Varsity Baseball team and was selected for American Legion Boys State, known as among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for high school students. He graduated from WCJC in 1986 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice.

He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1987 to 2007 as a Telecommunication/Security Specialist. After retirement he was Manager of a Virginia branch UPS Store and then transitioned to his passion for security/private investigation work. James was a security analyst and executive protection specialist for At-Risk International, LLC since 2008, which had him traveling within the U.S. and abroad to the Ukraine, Georgia, Malaysia, Mexico; while also part-timing as a private investigator and executive personal protection specialist for Black Ice Security Services and Blue Shield Security and Investigations. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas, Virginia where he was a music minister.

James is survived by his mother Evelyn Dornak; son Christopher Dornak of Manassas, Virginia; daughters Casey Kittel and husband Guy of Del City, Oklahoma, Megan Dornak of Del City, Oklahoma, Ashley Dornak of Manassas, Virginia; granddaughter Raylee Lynn Kittel; brother John Dornak of Richmond; sisters Jayme Kana of Bossier City, Louisiana; Dana Sternadel of El Campo, Angela Dornak of San Antonio; 10 nieces and nephews and 8 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father James R. Dornak Sr and niece Lindsay Kana.

Visitation will begin at 2 pm on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Triska Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be 10 am on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with the Reverend Michael Rother officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Jeffrey Dornak, Scott Sternadel, Chester Kitchens, Tom Benich, Mark Cervenka and Stephen Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of James can be made to a trust fund for Ashley and Christopher Dornak.
