Josephine P. Brandt of El Campo, passed away April 25, 2014 at the age of 87. She was born October 10, 1926 in Wharton to the late Emanuel J. and Francis Freed Wendel. She was a long-standing member of St. Philip Catholic Church, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #1374 and the SPJST #40. Josephine retired from ECISD where she drove a school bus for over 25 years. She loved going to the Heritage Center to play dominoes and visit with friends. She was the type of person that was always willing to help someone and leaves behind many friends.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, and is survived by her four children, Carl Brandt and wife Sharon of Pace, FL, Glenn Brandt and wife Kathy of Temple, Melissa Lester and husband Ken of Port Lavaca, and Pamela Rosselli and husband Angelo of Sealy, sister Janie Prather of Bay City, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 54 years, Alfred H. Brandt.

Visitation will begin 12 noon Friday, May 2, 2014, at Triska Funeral Home with a CDA Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm. The funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Rother officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton.

Pallbearers are Brian Parther, Michael Giesalhart, Doug Koudela, Dennis Campbell, Dusty Rhodes and Ron Skinner.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Philip Church, St. Philip School, or the American Heart Assoc.
