M. G. Lanier of Garwood passed away May 11, 2014 at the age of 90. He was born on May 28, 1923 in Nottawa, TX to the late Les and Olla Bell Smith Lanier. He was a retired television repairman at A. J. Struss Auto Supply in Eagle Lake. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp during WWII with the rank of Sgt.

Mr. Lanier is survived by his daughter Kelli Cook and husband Wes of El Campo; sons Terrell Lanier and wife Dixie of Weston Lakes, and Michael Lanier and wife Paula of Garwood; grandchildren Michelle Vidalllia and husband Seth of Erath, LA, Alyson Hoffman and husband Kevin of Matthews, J. T. Lanier of Corpus Christi, Jared and Dylan Cook of El Campo; great-grandchildren Conner Vidallia and Wade Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Lorene Mendell Lanier.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Triska Funeral Home. Funeral Services will by 10 am Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Triska Funeral Home with Reverend David King officiating. Interment will follow at Lehrer Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial donations: Garwood Veterans Memorial Library, Garwood Vol. Fire Dept., Lehrer Memorial United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer's Asocciation, 6055 South Loop East, Houston TX 77087-1005.
