Martha Annie Koenig Galow passed away on November 12, 2013 at the age of 94. She was born on October 31, 1919 to the late Joe E. Koenig Sr. and Martha Annie Schulze Koenig at their home in the Plainview Community in Texas. Martha was a homemaker, loved her quilting and working in her yard. She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she worshipped and was active in the church's quilting group. Martha was also a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of El Campo.
She is survived by her children Donald Galow and wife Sherry of La Grange, Douglas Galow and wife Becky of El Campo, Kathy Galow Quintero of El Campo; grandchildren Troy Galow (Jacqui), Tracy Galow (Christi), Jason Galow (Jessyka), Michelle Gates (Jeff), Marty Galow (Danielle), Kristi Galow, Cassie Quintero Gallagher (Brent), Quinten Quintero and fiancée Taylor Stewart, 8 greart-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 62 years Oscar "O.G." Galow, brothers Ed (Katy), Leonard (Mattie), Joe Jr (Dagmar), Carl (Nannie), George (Betty) Koenig and sister Alma (Oscar) Reinhart, and in-laws Louis Galow, Leonard Galow, Ray and Viola Webernick and Norma Johnson.
Visitation will begin at 12 pm on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Triska Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 4 – 6 pm. Funeral service will be at 2 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church with the Reverend Jake Fain officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Troy Galow, Tracy Galow, Jason Galow, Marty Galow, Jeff Gates, Quinten Quintero, Brent Gallagher and Mark Waligura. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, great-grandchildren, and Walter Lilie Jr.
Memorial donations in memory of Martha may be made to Hospice-Brazos Valley, 1048 N. Jefferson, La Grange TX 78945, Houston Hospice-El Campo, Christ Lutheran Church or to the donor's charity of choice.
