Oscar Torres Escobar, Sr. 76, passed away on April 21, 2014. He was born on May 26, 1937 in Karnes City to the late Marcos, Sr and Angelita Torres Escobar. He had previously worked for Howard Clapp, Jessie Gibson, and Bueltel Chevrolet as a wrecker driver. For the past 30 years he was the owner of Oscar's Wrecker Service.
He is survived by his sons Oscar R. Escobar, Jr. of El Campo and wife Lena and Reynaldo Escobar of Katy and wife Sandra K; grandchildren, Stephanie Ornelas of Katy, Stacie Hernandez and husband Michael of Katy, Rachel Escobar of Hammond, LA, Katherine Escobar of El Campo, and Kristopher Escobar and wife Kasey ,U.S. Navy; great grandchildren, Sydney Escobar, Dante R. Hernandez, and Luke Escobar; brothers Marcus Escobar and wife Mary of El Campo and Leonardo Escobar and wife Elma of El Campo.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Olivia Garcia and Olga Baisa; and brothers Anastacio Escobar, Guadalupe Escobar, Raymond Escobar, and Ruben Escobar.
Visitation will begin on Friday at 12:00 PM at Triska Funeral Home with a rosary being held at 6:00PM.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Robert's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
