Raymond Thomas "Mickey" Labay, 82 of Nada, passed away January 2, 2014. He was born on December 29, 1931 in Colorado County, Texas to the late Fred and Annie Gerla Labay. Raymond was a farmer and also worked at Transco Gas Co. as a pipeliner, retiring after 36 years, then was a truck driver for Zbranek Brothers Trucking, retiring after 20 years. He was a member of the Nada Knights of Columbus and KJT Society.

He is survived by his daughter Gayle Mica and husband Felix, sons Jerry Labay of Nada, Anthony Labay and wife Tisha, all of Nada, grandchildren Jason Mica, Amy McCabe, Jerry Labay Jr, Ashley Leopold, Brian Labay, Wade Labay, Max Labay, Thomas Labay, and great-grandchild Bryce McCabe.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janie Kubecka Labay, brothers Henry, Clement, Fred and Lawrence Labay, sisters Lorraine Morton, Martha Prihoda, and daughter-in-law Escotta Labay.

Visitation will begin at 2 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Triska Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:30 pm. Funeral services (this is not a Mass) will be 2 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada with Rev. Eddie Schoellmann officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Allen Labay, Paul Labay, Lawrence Labay Jr, Eugene Labay, Andrew Labay, Pat Labay and Edwin Labay. Honorary bearers are Timmy Kubecka, James Kubecka, Thomas Kubecka, Matthew Kubecka, Mike Schipula, Frank Schipula, Glen Hermis and Danny Labay.

Memorial donations in memory of Raymond may be made to Garwood Volunteer Fire Department.
