Sarah Hessbrook Martinez, 87 of El Campo, passed away on November 14, 2013 following a brief illness after suffering a stroke. She was born on October 10, 1926 in San Marcos, TX to the late Albert II and Sarah Settlers Hessbrook. On April 9, 1951 she married Pete T. Martinez in Edinburg, TX. She was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband Pete T. Martinez of El Campo; daughter Diane Waters of Boling; sons, Peter H. Martinez, Jr. and wife Mindy of St. Louis, Michigan, Charles Martinez of El Campo, Michael Marinez and girlfriend Toni Vaughn of Altair; grandchildren Christopher Martinez, Devon Martinez, Dallas Martinez, Austin Waters, Jason Waters, Harrison Waters, Ashley Nielsen, Michael Martinez, Jr., Dustin Vaughn, Shelbi Vaughn,and Kayla Vaughn ; great grandchildren Lacey Nielsen, Natalie Nielsen, Mark Waters, and John Waters.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Henry Martinez, son in law Mark Waters, 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
Visitation will begin on Monday at 12:00 PM at Triska Funeral Home with a rosary being held at 6:00PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 2:00PM at St. Robert's Catholic Church with burial following at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
Memorials in her memory may be made to American Diabetes Association.
