Stanley Blaha of El Campo passed away January 17, 2014 at the age of 80. He was born on September 2, 1933 in New Taiton to the late Lad Blaha and Millie Dorotik Blaha Naiser.

He was an industrial and small motor mechanic which led him to establish Stanley's Lawnmower Service, El Campo Engine & Compressor Service, and El Campo Feed & Milling. He enjoyed farming and ranching in his later years. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #2490, KJT, SPJST, and the American Legion Post 251.

Stanley, lovingly known as "Papo" to his family, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice Stepan Blaha of El Campo; daughters Donna McClung and husband Mark of Austin, Lisa Bubela of El Campo, Carolyn Blaha of Bryan ; sons Stanley Blaha, Jr. and wife Cindy, Calvin Blaha and wife Lennie, and Garland Blaha and wife Jane, all of El Campo; grandchildren Heather Blaha Garrett and husband John, Kirby Bubela Lange and husband Everett, Ryan Blaha, Kenna Bubela and fiancée Clayton Harwell, Clint Blaha, Allison McClung, Caydi Blaha, John McClung; great-grandchildren Grant Bubela, Abigail and Millie Jo Garrett; and step-grandchildren Chris and Troy Korenek. He is also survived by his half brothers Jerome E. Naiser, Jr. and Allen Naiser of El Campo, Jimmie Naiser of Houston, Rudy Naiser of New Taiton; half sister Anita Janicek of Needville; and step-sisters Grace Priesmeyer of El Campo and Emma Gates of Victoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Jerome E. Naiser, step-sister Lydia Rod and son-in-law Greg Bubela.

Visitation will be Monday, January 20, 2014, from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm at Triska Funeral Home. The rosary will be 6:30 pm Monday at St. Philip Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at St. Philip Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Rother officiating. Graveside services under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251 and Prairie Switch Riders will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery, New Taiton.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in El Campo or St. John Catholic Church in New Taiton.
