Walter B. Gold, 84 of Nada, passed away on April 28, 2014. He was born on September 29, 1929 in Weimar, Texas to Rudolph and Amalia Ulbrich Gold. Walter was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Society and Nocturnal Adoration Society.

He is survived by his children Terese Faas and husband Steve of Nada, Jeanie Janak and husband Allan of El Campo, Pat Gold and wife Shannon of Nada, Susan Popp and husband Bryan of Nada, Linda Lara and husband Payne of Navasota, Thomas Gold and wife Annie of Nada, daughter-in-law Kim Gold, sister Bernita Korenek of Nada, 18 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Ann Korenek Gold, son Chris Gold, brothers Rudy Gold, Albert Gold, Edwin Gold, sisters Hilda Guenther and Lily Raaz.

Visitation will be from 2 – 5 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Triska Funeral Home and from 6 – 8 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada. A Rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be at 10 am on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada with Reverend Paul Raaz and Reverend Greg Korenek officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Clint Faas, Brandon Janak, Dustin Janak, Jason Gold, Derek Gold, Trent Popp and Erik Gold.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Garwood Volunteer Fire Department.
