Bessie Korenek Loranc, of Richmond, passed away February 25, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born on February 5, 1928 to Leo and Annie Janish Korenek in Nada, Texas. She worked as a secretary for St. Austin Catholic Church until her retirement in 1990. Bessie was a wonderful mother and her enduring faith in God and her dedication to herfamily were a testimony to a life well lived.

She is survived by her daughters Pat Jankowiak and husband Mike of Brazoria, Cindy Matulich of Richmond and Diane Starkey and husband Mike of Fulshear; sons James Loranc and wife Mona of Spring and Mark Loranc of Houston; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-granchildren; and brother Gene Korenek of El Campo. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Lillie Petter, Mary Ann Gold, and Edith Drlik and brothers Leonard Korenek, Allen Korenek and Joseph Korenek.

Visitation will be held from 2 – 6 pm on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Triska Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am with a funeral Mass following at 10 am on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada, Texas. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial donations in honor of Bessie may be made to the American Cancer Society.
