Betty Jo Johnson Merwin of Houston died March 2, 2013 at the age of 75. She was born March 21, 1937 in El Campo to the late Glen Johnson and Isabel Wendel Wagenhoft.
She is survived by her husband Leland Merwin of Houston; step-daughter Marsha Merwin of Houston; step-son Brad Merwin and wife Sherry of Van Vleck; sisters Diane Johnson and husband Mike, and Glenell Wenglar and husband Doug, all of El Campo; brother Pat Johnson and wife Jody of San Marcus; step-brother Bryan Bergstrom and wife Judy of New Braunfels; step-sister Sandra Petersen of Katy; numerous nieces and nephews; and life-long friend Jeanette Dansereau of Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother Edith Johnson.
Visitation will be 2 pm to 7 pm Monday at Triska Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at First Christian Church with Rev. Chris Humble officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
Serving as pallbearers are Mike Johnson, Doug Wenglar, Kenneth Balusek, Glen Balusek, Justin Johnson, and Buck Merwin. Honorary bearers are Jeanette Dansereau, Laura Martinez, and Little Laura.
Memorial donations may be made to Houston Hospice-El Campo or First Christian Church.
