Donald Edwin Fiala, 54, of New Taiton died peacefully at home from metastatic cancer on September 14, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 18, 1959 in El Campo to Edwin and Dorothy Sablatura Fiala of Ganado. He owned and operated Donald Fiala Tire Repair, LLC.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Bernadette Hubenak Fiala of New Taiton; sons Jason Fiala and wife Jamie of Wharton and Matthew Fiala of New Taiton; granddaughter Jayci Fiala of Wharton; brother Allen Fiala of El Campo; and sisters Julie Girndt of Ganado and Patricia Thomas of Morales. He was preceded in death by his son Phillip Fiala.
Visitation on Tuesday will be 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Triska Funeral Home and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at St. John Catholic Church in New Taiton with a parish rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at St. John Church with Rev. Jim Courville officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are James Hubenak, Dale Piekert , Bobby Prazak, Thomas P. Vacek, Ernest Torres, and Emil Zahradnik. Honorary bearers are Kallen Bubela, Jimmy Girndt, and Victor Valchar.
