Josephine Ann Leopold Popp, age 82 of Garwood passed away on February 18, 2013 . She was born on January 23, 1931 to the late Emil and Annie Gerberman Leopold. Josephine was a Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers,Nada Catholic Daughters of America and the Garwood /Nada Gadabouts.

Survivors include her daughters Debbie Kana and husband David of El Campo and Dianne Bone and husband Marc of Austin, sons Gerald Popp and wife LaVonda of Bryan, Gregory Popp and wife Fae of El Campo and Dale Popp of Garwood and fiancé Beverly Phillips, grandchildren Dory Labay and husband Brent of El Campo, Drew Kana of El Campo, Dusty Skoruppa and husband Bert of Ganado, Joshua Bures of Carthage, N.Y., Sierra Popp of Bryan and Jairus Popp of San Marcos, Jessica Drapela and husband Nathan of Louise, Cassidy Popp of El Campo and friend Chris Bird, Brandy Turner and husband Blake of Hankamer, great grandchildren Camron, Olivia and Cooper Labay of El Campo, Paislyn and Breckyn Drapela of El Campo, and Brody and Owen Skoruppa of Ganado.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert Popp, grandson Cody Popp, and sisters Marie Morton and Florence Genz.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 21 between 12 pm and 4 pm at Triska Funeral Home. A Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers rosary will be recited at 6pm on Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada. Funeral Services will be held on Friday February 22 at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Reverend Joe Vrana officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jarius Popp, Josh Bures, Cody Zboril, Blake Turner, Nathan Drapela, Bert Skoruppa, Drew Kana, Brent Labay, Chris Bird, and Michael Morton. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.

Memorial Donations may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Fund or St. Philip's Catholic School.
