Ruby Marie Kainer Popp Obituary


Ruby Marie Kainer Popp, 91 of Louise, passed away on May 6, 2011. She was born on February 13, 1920 in Taiton to the late Rudolph and Josephine Petschka Kainer.

She attended school at Jones Creek, later moving with her parents to Louise, where she met and married Willie E. "Bill" Popp on October 25, 1938 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Hillje.

She was employed at IC Manufacturing Co. for over 28 years. She was active in the Louise Altar Society, VFW Ladies Auxilary, a Charter and 50 year member of the Louise-Hillje Catholic Daughters, and a Bingo volunteer at the Czech Catholic Home for many years.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Shirley Popp of Louise; granddaughters Robin Sless of Louise, Michelle "Peanut" (Gary) Nunnelly of Sheridan, Kendra (Scott) Charbula of Louise; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; sister-in-law Rosie (Jerry) Hlavaty of Hillje; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Her parents, husband, sons Warren and Wayne Popp, and sister Rosalie Huvar preceded her in death.

Visitation will be on Monday from 8 am until 1 pm at Triska Funeral Home. A Parish Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at 3 pm on Monday, May 9, 2011, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Hillje with Rev. Clement Quainoo officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Andrew's Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Phillip Huvar, Paul Feagen, Clarence Kovar, Norbert Popp, Larry Hlavaty, Dwayne Courville, Jimmy Trojcak and Raymond Poncik. Honorary pallbearers are David Sless, Speedy Heard and Audry Long.

Memorials may be made to the St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Louise Altar Society, Houston Hospice-El Campo or to the donor's choice.
